How could he? He was only four years old, an innocent heart. How could he possibly understand the arrogance, the ignorant presumptuous fear born hatred of his haughty neighbors.

...unique. Beautifully, wonderfully unique. His hair was the purest white, like a fresh winter's snow, save for a large lock of hair that was as blue as a summer's sky. His eyes were same remarkable shade of blue. They sparkled with the light of his intoxicatingly exuberant soul. From the edges of his hair protruded two long, dog like ears. Ears that made him stand out and could hear thing that no one else seemed to hear. He seemed to take joy in everything and was bubbling over with boundless energy...
...but the local gossips and fear mongers did not see him in that light.
They saw an abomination.
A freak.
A blight on the neighborhood.
They saw a living embodiment of some unknown evil.
They called him the "Chinchilla Boy"
